What are Secondary Conditions?
Your symptoms may be an indicator of a more significant underlying issue. The term secondary condition is used when these symptoms are the result of a neurospinal shift (the primary condition), which when present can cause strain on the nervous system.

What Is a Neurospinal Shift?
At Foundation Chiropractic, we look primarily for neurospinal shifts - adverse mechanical spinal cord tension (AMCT) and biomechanical/structural dysfunction. By taking care of the neurological and meningeal function, and then the biomechanical functions, we are enabling your body to hold the neurospinal correction for longer, thus building a healthier and stronger foundation.
Minor abnormal shifts are nothing to worry about. However, if the neurospinal shifts are too far from normal, then you may experience one or more of what we refer to as secondary conditions, or symptoms.
In other words, the main communication system that connects your brain to your body and your body to your brain can be disrupted when the primary condition, the neurospinal shift, is left unaddressed.
